Dr. Faust has practiced in Raleigh, NC for more than twenty- seven years. His practice is devoted to endocrine surgery. He introduced the techniques of minimally invasive parathyroidectomy, intra-operative PTH monitoring, endoscopic thyroidectomy, and laparoscopic adrenalectomy to Wake county.

Dr. Faust was born in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama. He attended medical school on The State Of Alabama Merit Scholarship. He graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine (Birmingham). He trained in surgery at Wake Forest University where he was awarded The Bradshaw Research Fellowship .

Dr. Faust is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He performs over 450 thyroid, parathyroid and other endocrine operations a year.

Dr. Faust practices with Rex Surgical Specialist. We are a 30 person group of general surgeons providing a wide range of surgical services at Rex Hospital in Raleigh NC.

Dr. Paul Park joined Dr. Faust in practice in 2013

After 30+ years in surgical practice, Dr. Faust retired as of June 31, 2023.

Dr. Park grew up in Southern California and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley. He went to medical school at the University of California at Davis. He received his surgical training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where also completed the Norman W. Thompson Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery. He has previously worked at the University of Michigan and the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Hospital, and is now has been working with North Carolina Surgery in Raleigh, NC since 2013.

His practice scope includes the surgical management of malignant and benign disorders of the endocrine system, including thyroid cancer, goiter, reoperative neck surgery, hyperparathyroid disease, parathyroid carcinoma, nonfunctional and functional adrenal tumors, as well as adrenal cancer. His practice includes the use of minimally-invasive techniques for neck and abdomen surgery. He performs all thyroid and parathyroid operations through standard open techniques with minimal surgical incisions when appropriate. He performs radiofrequency ablation of thyroid nodules in the office, as well as his own ultrasound, fine needle aspiration biopsy, and transnasal laryngoscopy. He is skilled in performing adrenalectomy through standard laparoscopic approaches, typically the lateral transabdominal/transperitoneal approach, posterior retroperitoneal approach, as well as open adrenalectomy when necessary.

Dr. Park is a Board Certified in general surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, American Thyroid Association, and International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.

Jessica Selvaggio is a Family Nurse Practitioner who assists in surgery, preoperative evaluations, and post-operative care. She is originally from Illinois and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Murray State University in Kentucky. She then attended East Carolina University where she received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career at UNC Rex where she worked as a medical/surgical staff nurse and recovery room nurse for over 8 years before transitioning to her Nurse Practitioner role. She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed by the state of North Carolina.

Linda Smart is a Registered Nurse. She has over 15 years of experience with endocrine patients. Linda is a 1982 graduate of Lenoir Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  Linda’s goal is for all of Dr. Faust’s patients to receive outstanding care and service.
