Dr. Paul Park
FACS

Dr. Park grew up in Southern California and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley. He went to medical school at the University of California at Davis. He received his surgical training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where also completed the Normal W. Thompson Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery. He has previously worked at the University of Michigan and the Ann Arbor Veterans Administration Hospital, and is now working with North Carolina Surgery in Raleigh, NC. His practice scope includes the surgical management of malignant and benign disorders of the endocrine system, including thyroid cancer, compressive and substernal goiter, reoperative neck surgery, hyperparathyroidism, parathyroid carcinoma, functional adrenal tumors, adrenal masses, and adrenal cancer. His practice also includes the use of minimally-invasive techniques for neck and abdomen surgery. He performs all thyroid operations through standard open techniques, and is the first practice in North Carolina to successfully introduce radiofrequency ablation of thyroid nodules. He performs adrenalectomy through standard laparoscopic approaches, including transabdominal and posterior retroperitoneal approaches, as well as radical resection via open approaches when necessary. He performs over 400 endocrine surgery cases annually.

Dr. Park is a Board Certified in general surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, American Thyroid Association, and International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.

Dr. Christopher Young
FACS

Growing up, Dr. Young’s mom was an operating room nurse. This introduced him to medicine and specifically, surgery. That interest has grown over time and has led him to his current position as a surgeon specializing in endocrine surgery. Dr. Young approaches each patient on an individual basis. While a diagnosis can be the same between two patients, the approach to treatment can vary. His goal is to deliver high-quality, state-of-the-science care to each patient, but tailor it in ways that allows everyone to feel comfortable through the process. When he is not at work, Dr. Young and his wife love to explore different restaurants and local markets. We also frequent local parks and trails with our dog.

Jessica Selvaggio
DNP

Jessica Selvaggio is a Family Nurse Practitioner who assists in surgery, preoperative evaluations, and post-operative care. She is originally from Illinois and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Murray State University in Kentucky. She then attended East Carolina University where she received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career at UNC Rex where she worked as a medical/surgical staff nurse and recovery room nurse for over 8 years before transitioning to her Nurse Practitioner role. She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed by the state of North Carolina.
